AT&T HACEMOS Hosts 19th Annual High Technology Day
(Newsroom Story)

Overview

HACEMOS, AT&T’s Employee Resource Group (ERG) for Hispanic and Latino employees hosts their annual “Hi-Tech Day” event for thousands of middle and high school students each year. The majority of “Hi-Tech Day” events take place in schools and technology offices across the United States and Latin America simultaneously on the same day, introducing upwards of 3,000 students to education and career opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

During this massive and well-organized event, students engage in hands-on projects, speak with professionals working in STEM careers, and enjoy a day of fun at no cost to the students or host schools. HACEMOS engages with the Multicultural Public Relations team months in advance to prepare a nationwide PR strategy that leverages both national and local PR sources, social media, external relations, and more.  This particular year, we commissioned an introspective video featuring a soon-to-be college graduate who not only participated in a previous “Hi-Tech Day” event, but had already secured a job in STEM with AT&T. The video allowed us to further highlight the long-term impact of the HACEMOS High Technology Day.
